Norwegian heavy rock/doom outfit OmegaShift have released their new single ‘Dwell Suspended,’ the latest track taken from their forthcoming album The Burden Of Storms, due out November 20 via Nordic Mission.

Following lead single ‘While Men Slept,’ ‘Dwell Suspended’ offers another glimpse into OmegaShift’s distinctive blend of melodic doom, metal and heavy rock, where heavy riffs and melancholy meet unexpected shifts, eccentric arrangements and Jorunn’s unmistakable vocals.

Rather than settling comfortably into a single genre or chasing immediate gratification, OmegaShift build songs designed to gradually reveal themselves, reflecting the organic and deeply human approach behind The Burden Of Storms.

That philosophy also shaped the recording process. There is no click track, no Auto-Tune, no drum quantisation and no artificial perfection. With 100% real drums and the natural interaction between five musicians left intact, the record captures OmegaShift as they actually sound together.

“This is a mirrored image of what we can do, not what we can’t,” the band explain. “With heart, flaws and years of consuming music, The Burden Of Storms is the collective core of the five members, each member contributing their personal piece of the puzzle.”

Following their 2022 debut mini-album, whose 38 minutes Veil Of Sound described as “exquisitely performed Heavy Doom Metal,” The Burden Of Storms pushes the band’s identity considerably further while keeping human interaction at the heart of everything.

“The result has become an organic collection of songs, all of which will grow if you let them. You are more than welcome to join our sphere of solace.”
