Since its inception in 2019, Novarupta has stood as a testament to the power of collective artistry, creating a transformative series of albums tied to the elemental forces of life. Now, after six years of groundbreaking releases, Novarupta is set to conclude its tetralogy with the highly anticipated final album, Astral Sands, due out on February 14, 2025, via Suicide Records.
The first glimpse of this closing chapter comes with the release of the single ‘Endless Joy,’ an intense track featuring contributions from Per Stålberg (Division of Laura Lee, Child) and Johannes Björk. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of Astral Sands—a profound and cathartic exploration through post-metal soundscapes.
‘Endless Joy’ is about the dualities of creation and life. From vivid loathing to the ecstasy of life.
Both the music and lyrics was created very organic, like a stream of consciousness between Alex and Per Stålberg (Division of Laura Lee/CHILD). And it got added life with Johannes Björks beautiful string arrangements.
In many ways ‘Endless Joy’ reflects the past, the present and the future of what Novarupta was all about.
